Hi Everyone
Christopher Wheeldon breathes new life into Shakespeare
THE WINTER’S TALE
THE WINTER’S TALE, Christopher Wheeldon’s brand new full length ballet for The Royal Ballet, premieres in cinemas across Australia on May 23. This brand new production is hotly anticipated following the phenomenal success of Wheeldon’s ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND, which was the most popular title of the 2012/13 ROH Live Cinema Season. He continues his highly successful collaboration with designer Bob Crowley and composer Joby Talbot in this tale based on Shakespeare’s enduring tale of love, loss and reconciliation.
The full Company including an array of superb Royal Ballet Principal Dancers bring Shakespeare’s tale to life. THE SLEEPING BEAUTY stars Sarah Lamb and Australian Steven McRae return again for this production as Perdita and Florizel respectively. Lauren Cuthbertson, for whom the role of Alice was created dances the role of Hermione, Olivier Award-winning Edward Watson dances Leontes, Zenaida Yanowsky is Paulina and Federico Bonelli dances Polixenes.
