It was a real delight to see Michelle and Rosetta in the roles of Ladies-in-Waiting for the Australian Ballet’s current production of Swan Lake. The girls carried out their roles with grace and panache and looked most elegant in their stunning costumes! It was wonderful to see our girls back on stage and in such a sumptuous ballet! Michelle and Rosetta accompanied another well-known and loved Queensland dancer, Lisa Bolte. Lisa played the role of the widowed Queen.
Artistic Director of the Australian Ballet, David McAllister publicly acknowledged Michelle, Rosetta and Lisa as valued Guest Artists at the Opening Night Party on Friday night for Swan Lake. He made special reference to the fact that Michelle, Rosetta and Lisa are so well loved in Queensland.
Michelle and Rosetta are having a fabulous time with the dancers of the Australian Ballet and are sharing a dressing room with four of the soloists from the company.
According to Michelle, “David McAllister and the dancers and the whole staff couldn’t have made us feel more welcome – we are absolutely loving it! It is such a joy and pleasure. The whole production is just fantastic and Rosie and I are loving it.”
As audience members, my daughter and I were spell-bound by the production – the dancing is just divine, the music played live by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra is beautiful and the cast are magnificent. Highly recommended! See Swan Lake if you can – it is on all this week at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC.
