Joanna is a performer / teacher / choreographer with a passion for the magic of Musical Theatre. She spent two years singing and dancing as Bride of Frankenstein in the MONSTER ROCK SHOW (Universal Studios Singapore), then returned home and performed as Marilyn Monroe (Movie World.) Other professional engagements include SPAMALOT and OKLAHOMA, and favourite roles include Velma Kelly (CHICAGO – Savoyards Theatre Co) and Reno (ANYTHING GOES – Beenleigh Theatre Co). Jo’s screen credits include a feature role on Channel Nine’s THE SHAK.
She’s a qualified school teacher with a Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Education (Drama / Dance – Secondary) from QUT. Jo has taught Dance (including Tap, Jazz, Hip-hop and Contemporary) and Drama and developed curriculums for many years in musical theatre youth programs and worked with adult dancers at various dance studios. She is also very passionate about her work for many years teaching at a school for students with a vast range of physical and intellectual challenges.
In recent years, Jo toured with an arena spectacular as a dance captain / performer. She is currently working as a choreographer and director for children’s live entertainment group SPORT STARZ, as well as teaching youth musical theatre classes, and looks forward to making a return to performing as her two awesome children Ted and Reggie get a bit older.
